Forivor to launch its first ‘Perfectly Imperfect Sale’

On the occasion of Fashion Revolution, Forivor will be hosting its first ever ‘Perfectly Imperfect Sale’ where
you will be able to pick up some of their beautiful (and ever so slightly imperfect) bedding and nightwear for a
fraction of the normal retail value.

Why are they doing this? In 2017, Forivor experienced some teething problems with the production of their new
expanded bedding and nightwear collection. The result, unfortunately and much to their dismay, looked like wasted
stock which they weren’t able to sell through their normal channels due to their high standards of quality control.
This was potentially a huge waste of all the raw materials, water and energy that had gone into the production
and a situation that they were very unhappy with as directors of a sustainable business. The bedding and
nightwear were still beautiful, well made pieces that could be treasured and provide years and years of magical
bedtimes but yet could potentially sit unused in a stock room for years.

Realising that wasted stock was a big issue for brands large and small, they decided to be honest about the
problems they experienced in a bid to shine a light on an area that, for some big high street brands means a
billion dollar problem (and incinerators to deal with unwanted stock) while for smaller brands reject stock can
mean the untimely death of a fledgling brand. The decision to be honest about the production issues they faced,
resulted in Forivor launching the The Perfectly Imperfect Sale and an intention to create less waste and more
people having magical bedtimes.

“We don’t tend to think of fabric waste in the same way as plastic, water or food waste, but the
raw materials, water, energy, printing inks, packaging and shipping that go into each product are
pointlessly wasted if the product sits in a stock room or is sent to landfill. We need to close the loop on
the cycle of throwing stuff away and thinking that out of sight is out of mind. We hope that by making
our slightly imperfect products available we can make a small contribution to the much needed
conversation on tackling textile wastage.”
Rebecca Attwood, Director, Forivor

“‘We wish that all of our products arrived from the factory in perfect condition to sell but unfortunately
in 2017 we received too many products that didn’t quite meet our high standards. As a sustainable
business we couldn’t just see good products sitting around not being used so we decided to be open
about the issues we’d faced, and how as a small business it created lots of challenges that could have
threatened our existence. We were shocked how much waste was created even in a relatively small
supply chain like ours and it has opened our eyes to the enormity of the global problem of textile waste
in unsold stock.”

Forivor’s debut nightwear collection is available for pre-order
London. 15th March  2017:  Innovative children’s brand Forivor brings modern silhouettes and  magical ruffles to its debut nightwear collection. Launched in January at Playtime Paris, their collection is now available for pre-order.

Forivor_Nightwear

Forivor’s debut nightwear collection is made from luxuriously soft organic cottons and features delicate prints and ruffles inspired by their award-winning and magical heirloom bedding.

The Tumbling Pegasus Jumpsuit (top left) features a kaleidoscope of magical treasures and creatures from Forivor’s Enchanted Forest signature design. With delicate buttons up the front, this relaxed fit jumpsuit in super soft organic cotton satin is perfect for lazy sundays as well as for a peaceful night’s sleep.

The Forivorland Nightdress (middle) and Forivorland Jumpsuit  (overleaf) have printed ruffles with hand illustrated motifs matching the collars of the mythical creatures on Forivor’s bedding. Look carefully and you’ll see the mythical creatures on the nighttime side of Forivor’s bedding have the same motifs on their collars.

For the boys (and girls), Forivor’s Unisex Enchanted Forest Pyjamas (top right) are made from the softest jersey and adorned with a bold all-over leafy print that will find children immersed in the treetops  - a new take on camouflage.

Available to pre-order from www.forivor.com

We wanted to create a timeless and other worldy nightwear collection with modern silhouettes that would capture the moment between being awake and dreaming, with one foot in the past and one in the present. Like our bedding, it’s all in the detail, beautifully made with the softest organic cottons to make them luxurious and comfortable. Perfect for those mornings when children stay in their pyjamas longer, because they’re playing games and exploring…and no one feels like rushing.

ABOUT FORIVOR (www.forivor.com)
Forivor was established by Rebecca Attwood and Alice Ross in Hackney, London. Named after Rebecca’s father Ivor, the concept for the brand came after Rebecca was writing a short story for her goddaughter, while also searching (and failing) to find exciting organic bedding. Unsurprisingly the idea came in that strange moment between being awake and falling asleep.
Rebecca inspired by her work with British designer Katharine Hamnett and the Environmental Justice Foundation wanted to create a beautiful, ethical and environmental product. Alice Ross, illustrator and Project Coordinator at the British Museum and The National Portrait gallery was excited to bring her distinctive and beautiful illustrations to this original concept.

Forivor's award-winning storytelling bedding will transport your children on a magical Christmas journey

London 26th September 2016: Wrap yourself up in magical bedding and let the mythical creatures of the Enchanted Forest inspire some festive storytelling.

Forivor's super-soft heirloom bedding is perfectly presented for Christmas in its own hardwearing and stylish organic cotton suitcase. One side of the bedding depicts a British woodland, where wildlife hides in the undergrowth and up in the branches of the trees for children to find. Turning over your bedding reveals a transformed nighttime world. A place of wonder, where glow worms light up the enchanted forest and fantastical creatures play in secret burrows underground.

Forivor’s Character Cards draw on the popularity of collectable cards, providing interesting and memorable facts about wildlife on one side, encouraging children to explore and understand the world around them. The other side introduces the transformed creatures of Forivorland, their secrets and magic powers. Storytelling cues and questions encourage children to create their own bedtime tales.

Designed in the UK, Forivor’s organic and luxuriously soft bedding is presented in a beautiful organic cotton suitcase which could be used for play or as a first sleepover bag. The set of 16 cards are also presented in an organic cotton zip-up pouch.

“With Forivor’s bedding children can learn fascinating facts about British wildlife, such as how a mole can dig 540 times their own bodyweight in a day. In Forivorland they will discover King Mole’s magic power to sniff out treasure and imagine where they would hide  their own treasure in the underground burrows. This combination of fact and fiction we hope will inspire parents and children to become passionate about protecting nature while encouraging inventive storytelling. We want to nurture a generation of imaginative storytellers who are invested in the future of the planet.”  Alice Ross, Director, Forivor
